Judges and Builders Guide

Coordinating A Game

So you want to run a game? It seems like a fairly complex process, so we will do our best to explain it as best we can.

There are four basic classes of scenarios: Core, Regional, MetaRegional and Special. The first three classes are registered with the RPGA, the last (Special) is not registered with the RPGA, and includes Interactives, Intro-Modules and Special-Missions.

Scenarios are also typically released on a "schedule", where Conventions have first access to them, then Game Days and Retail games, and finally then Home Games. There is a month separating each release, so a game released in July for Convention Play would be available for Game Day play in August and Home Play in September.

Ordering Scenarios

  1. To order a scenario, you must first understand the RPGA General Rules, and meet the requirements for running the event (such as being a Herald-Level GM).

  2. If you are able to run an event, or you have an available Herald-Level GM to run the event, you then Login to the RPGA Site, and register the event.

  3. If the event only includes Core scenarios, you can download the scenarios from the RPGA site and you are done. Regional and Meta Regional scenarios are not available for download from the RPGA, and you must move onto the next step.

  4. You can also Register the Event on this site. This is required if you are including Regional scenarios. When registering the event, you must specify the RPGA Event ID.

Note: Special Modules cannot be registered with the RPGA. If your event ONLY includes special modules, do not register with the RPGA, just create an event on this site with the Event Code: SPECIAL.

  5. Once you have registered the event, click on the Games tab and add the games your event is hosting. If the scenarios are available for download, a link will be shown next to the scenarios you have selected. If a link is not available you must Request the scenarios directly from the Triad.
